Familial pulmonary fibrosis means that there are one or more relatives with a similar condition. There may also be other conditions, not only related to the lung, such as unexplained liver disease, blood (hematological) abnormalities, autoimmune disease or features, early menopause and early grey hair. The fibrosis itself may also be atypical and difficult to classify in one of the known patterns.
